The exhibition „Express Yourself” is an illy Art Collection project and presents the works of 20 students of Bucharest Art University. They are the finalists of the design competition launched in October 2014 by UNArte and illycaffè, through Pro Brands Distribution.
The competition for the illy coffee can, launched in October 2014 in Bucharest, invited young artists to send artworks in any medium. The call gathered over 150 artworks and the jury (Carlo Bach – Art Director illycaffè, Dinu Dumbrăvician – director of Design Department UNArte and Mihnea Ghilduș -founder Dizainar.ro) selected 20 works: painting, drawing, digital design, photography and sculpture.
The works are exhibited as unique digigraphies in PostModernism Museum’s space, along with two other exhibitions. Later on this year, the exhibition ”Express Yourself” will travel to Iași and Brașov, Romania.
Out of the 20 finalists, the winning one belongs to the first-year student Andrei Măceșanu and the image of it decorates 20.000 illy collection cans, placing Romania on the international map of product design once again.
